RIGHT ABOUT NOW
Women group exhibition
March 15 — April 07, 2024
ArtKvartal, Pushkin 4, Yerevan

What's happening?
Love, finding one's path, motherhood, emigration, studying at a new institution or in another country, making sense of war and fearing a new one, depression, resistance, hope, fun, and anxiety – this is the present. The themes preoccupying the exhibition participants are united by the current moment. What kind of time is this? Not only will each of the sixteen participants have their own answer, but also the viewer: a time of change, challenges, and discoveries; a time of oblivion and apathy; a time to "live your best life" or "no time for fun." The RIGHT ABOUT NOW exhibition through the prism of art projects explores the reality where opposite experiences, emotions, and events exist synchronously.

Not only life, but also the creative act, whether it's creating a work of art or an exhibition, can hardly be predicted. When the future is unpredictable, trust and sincere interest in the process become the only sure strategy, including curatorial.

The RIGHT ABOUT NOW exhibition reveals the artistic stance of each participant. An artist's most pressing theme or feeling is manifested through an unfamiliar medium or a new exhibition solution. Not only new works are presented, but also installations and objects created especially for the gallery space.

Choosing an unusual exhibition form is a challenge for the artist. This is especially true when exploring a private or acute life situation. It is also a risk for the curator because the result is unpredictable and the dialogue between the art works depends on current circumstances. However, courage, openness, the willingness to experiment and presenting one's position to the world have always accompanied creative achievements. Following the principle of trust and striving towards the unknown, the project participants once again demonstrate this in practice.
